Wicklow Mountains Guide is not responsible for other expenses you may have incurred, e.g. travel or accommodation. Note that Scheduled hikes may not go ahead if there are insufficient numbers, in which case, prepaid bookings will be refunded in full.
Weather Conditions
Under no circumstances can Wicklow Mountains Guide be held responsible for weather conditions. If our guides judge that a given walk is unsafe under the prevailing or (forecasted) weather conditions, we may change the walk location or route to a safer alternative. (e.g. to a lower level or less exposed location).
Equipment
Wicklow Mountains Guide will advise all participants in advance of clothing, equipment and other requirements for a hike. Note that most hikes require waterproof hiking boots with good grip and ankle support as well as waterproof raingear and extra layers of clothing. (Hats and gloves maybe needed, even during the summer). You agree that you will inform your guide in advance if any relevant medical conditions. If our guide judges that a participant is not correctly equipped or is otherwise unsuitable for a walk, they may be refused participation.
Disclaimer
Climbing hills and mountains is a dangerous and sometimes demanding activity. Steep ground, exposed rock, and cliffs – which are a feature of many of our hikes – bring a serious risk of injury from a slip or a fall. In addition, there are other risks; strong winds or misty conditions can develop; underlying health conditions can be triggered by strenuous exercise. While this site highlights some particular dangers, it is not possible to list them all. Therefore, all clients are warned to take reasonable cautions before setting out. Walkers should also ensure they have sufficient physical fitness before taking on any of our hikes. While every effort has been taken to ensure the hike profiles listed here are correct, Wicklow Mountains Guide accepts no responsibility for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies – or for any loss or injury that could result.
Respect
Please respect the property of landowners, by closing any gates, taking care of fences and avoiding animals.
Insurance
While we have public liability insurance, clients are not covered by our insurance. We strongly suggest that you get your own insurance. Ideally this should be a personal public liability and holiday insurance, which may cover you if you fail to make the walk due to any unforeseen circumstances or indeed if you fall ill or suffer a mishap during a walk. Sometimes this may already be covered in your own health insurance. We advise you to check what is covered by your insurance.
